This bowl was just finished in my shop this week. My shop is 16 miles outside of Portland, in a very rural part of Clackamas County. It's on 52 acres of farm land where I find peace and inspiration. It's a rented barn where I have created and built hundreds of items over the past 23 years.
I have taken several outdoor photos and eight indoor photos for you to look it over. The American Walnut wood grain is quite outstanding. This was turned from a single piece of walnut. It's near burl in wood grain (see bottom of bowl). The grain is quite beautiful, and the contrasting wood colors are pretty awesome. It's had 8 coats of f inish applied on it.
It's my intention that this bowl will last for generations. In addition to lathe turnings, I have many other items made by my own hands. I have several handmade chess boards and chess board tables, designed and made in my own shop. Most of my own paintings are watercolor or acrylic. There are also two made to order items currently listed, a large cherry kitchen pantry, and a custom kitchen island.
All of this made by myself.
